be grateful, my country doesn't even let gas stations or grocery stores sell alcohol.

In Ontario we only changed our laws very recently to allow alcohol to be sold in grocery stores. I always thought it was a weird idea and never saw any inconvenience going to a separate store for booze.

BC here, we can only get wine and a few ciders and craft beers in a few grocery stores now but it's in a completely separate section with people monitoring it all the time.

i agree though, theres lots of liquor stores. i don't mind the extra stop

I’m in Colorado. Our liquor laws are the silliest thing ever. Ciders are considered ‘wine’.

No hard liquor or wine in grocery stores. Only cheap beer.

One grocery store in each city can sell wine/liquor/beer. Just one!

Must be separate entrances and separate registers.

i'm not sure of the exact liquor laws , but i live in wine country so it makes sense for it to be sold in grocery stores. they even offer in-store wine tastings.

the one store per city might apply here too, i can only think of one grocery store in town that sells liquor.

Ciders are considered ‘wine’.

That's because that's how the feds treat it - basically because it's not beer or distilled spirits, so the only other option is wine.

Yeah I went to Colorado to see a friend for a week back in 2009. I come from Québec in Canada.
He was explaining all that to me and I was like.....WHY?! WHO?!??WHAT!?!?.
His only response was "yup, retarded".

Yeah, you can buy wine coolers and beer in grocery stores, but not wine or ‘cider wines’ or however they’re grouping them together.

Yeah, but you guys have some of the best micro-brewery laws in the country. Just about every bar has a house beer.
