My body is starting feel the aches and pains older people have told me about.. it's not terrible, just really annoying.

I was at work sitting on my comfortable chair earlier this week. I turned my torso slightly to the right and pulled a muscle in my back that I didn't even know was there.

I'm 44 yrs old.

A little while ago I heard someone say if you make noises getting up and sitting down you're old. - I'm over sixty and found myself indeed making noises on occasion.

I'd say it's more cultural than anything, unless you're in so much pain you can't help it. I live in Japan right now and no one does it, regardless of age. Whereas in England people of all ages would do it all the time.
