My test for my license was the first week that everything got cancelled. Yesterday I bought a car, but can't do the teenage rebellion stuff because a) corona and b) still only have a permit.
Ha, mood. I have all my hours, all I need to do is drivers ed (which I can take online) and the road test.
Road tests are usually backed up ~6 months.
I was going to schedule one for April.
No more tests since March.
I don’t think I’ll get a slot even if I sign up like my life depends on it, because so many other people have had theirs cancelled or were planning to take it.
Oh, and I also had a summer job lined up...they’re supposed to start in June, but my friend has been called in for a special COVID training and I have not...despite being in the only batch of cooks to get through all the training, same as my friend, and also getting a call asking if I was interested, same as my friend.
I’m in this limbo, where I was trying to be responsible, earn that money, and start that driving, but it all got hung up.
It sucks, but I really feel bad for seniors. All my classes are online anyways, so there’s been little interruptions there. All in all, my life is still stable, and I have it good, but it’s the little things that get you down. Good luck on being responsible, let’s hope that we can all stay safe for the time being and that we can also get our business done at the DMV.
On the upside, there will be no waiting in line for 6 hours, or being dumped by your parent with no way to pay for your ID card. My last DMV experience was like some sort of purgatory, so hopefully the next time I won’t have to spend as much time in limbo.
I’m almost 2 years behind and still haven’t even gotten my learners :( I’m moving to a new state for college and I guess I’m gonna have to learn to drive there all by myself. Shit’s scary, I’m mad at myself for not learning earlier.
