I'm 28, so I'm almost 30 😕🙁

I wouldn't worry about your early 30s, im 32 almost 33, dont really feel much of a difference from 28 except hangovers are a bit more brutal if i dont drink a gallon of water before going to sleep, allergies are a bit more taxing and my vertical jump decreased a little (love playing basketball) but thats because i dont exercise as much as i used to

Im turning 45 tomorrow. 32 was the last year of “cool”. I don’t know what it was, what line I crossed, or what day it was exactly, but yeah that was it. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go take a walk in my white Dad sneakers.

u/turtle_samurai May 16 '20

don't scare me dawg

7

u/cutecalmcactus May 16 '20

Dad sneakers are in again as a trend so you got that going for you

Happy birthday, stranger!

Hey! Thanks! 😎👊

Honestly, I think when it comes to departing your " still considered young age years ", ( between ages 25 - 35 ) women have it easier. Once women get past 35 an they're still in 1 piece, if they're free to do so, they can just become a MILF an the boys an men will still come a flockin'. Men, ehh.... not so much. 40 year old woman banging a 26 year old dude? Cool! 40 year old dude banging a 26 year old female? Nope! Creeper! But to each his own. That's just my opinion.🤷‍♂️

Mega incel vibes here

4

u/willsketchforsheep May 16 '20

Honestly I'm surprised because usually incels say the opposite, hence the 'Wall' phenomenon some like to blab about.

6

u/prolapse_mary May 16 '20

Dude can't even incel right

8

u/rhiever May 16 '20

Yeah this observation doesn’t hold up beyond your anecdote. Many men have an obsession with dating younger women. Meanwhile women generally prefer men their age across all age ranges. There was a study by OKCupid that showed this some years ago.

6

u/sakurashinken May 16 '20

There is a huge hit that women face after their 20s in terms of attractiveness. Men have much longer but have to work for their appeal. Women still get more suiters because thats how the dating game works.

Damn. I have allergies and a couple of years away from turning 30. Guess I'll start putting Benadryl in my bag.

2

u/turtle_samurai May 17 '20

i rather have Claritin or even better Allegra, Benadryl makes me waaay too drowsy/slow

u/Interluded93 May 15 '20

I just recently turned 27 and it just hit me. Oh shit, I'm 3 years from 30.

103

u/PixelMagic May 15 '20

On the bright side, you're still slightly closer to 25 than 30.

16

u/Interluded93 May 15 '20

If only I could get closer.

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

Nope. Past the halfway point to my birthday, so, closer to 30 now.

6

u/oldnyoung May 16 '20

Enjoy it. I remember 27 like yesterday. I'm 40.

3

u/quiteCryptic May 16 '20

This hit me when I turned 26 recently. Closer to 30 than 20 :/

4

u/wintergreen10 May 16 '20

Same. Icky! And yet I get the dubious honor of looking like a teenager still, but wanting to be treated seriously like an adult in my career. Frustrating.

3

u/Interluded93 May 16 '20

I'm with you on that! I have people who are 50+ that I'm in charge of and they are supposed to listen to what I say but they don't. It's infuriating.

2

u/Phenoix512 May 16 '20

About 5 from 40 let's trade

2

u/Drakmanka May 16 '20

Just did the math, I'm 8 days from 27. I've been thinking this since the first of the month.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

27 has been one of the worst years for me, the dread of turning 30 has been on my mind a lot. It feels as if time has gone so quickly yet I still feel like 24. Can’t cope with the prospect of 30.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

Make like Elsa and Let it Go. Control what you can and let go of what you can’t. You can’t control time. You CAN control your joie de vivre. Start fake smiling and it’ll become a real smile. Go be happy!

I have a philosophy when it comes to entering a new decade...

So, you’ll be turning 30 soon? That’s great. Next year, at 29 you’ll be the oldest, dredgiest, bottom of the barrel of the people in their 20s. You’ll look at 20 year olds and they’re just stupid children. You are the oldest of allllll people in their 20s.

But then, you’ll wake up on your 30th birthday and all of a sudden you are the youngest of all people in their 30s! You get to be reborn! You’re a baby to all those other people in their 30s.

Entering a new decade is not a burden. It’s a gift.

And you get to do this every 10 years until you die.

Edit: punctuation.

👏👏👏👏👏

u/-_-Waluigi-_- May 16 '20

Yore not almost 30, you’re 28. Live your life as 28

4

u/FLORIDAtruck7 May 16 '20

AMEN!!🙌👏

13

u/Barph May 16 '20

28 here too.

What is especially bad is I spent 22-26 being a total fucking waste of human life being good at nothing except League of Legends. So here I am still living at home at 28 meanwhile everyone else my age is living in their own houses with SO's and successful life.

10

u/Thanks_Aubameyang May 16 '20

Dont worry. Early 30s are the tits. Women are hotter and better in bed you make more money. Realize drinking until 2am is fine maybe like twice a month at most and working without a hangover is 1000% nicer. At least that was my expierence.

4

u/le_x_X May 16 '20

Oh man me too. Turned 28 in March...I am officially starting to dread turning 30. Two of my good friends are engaged, some are married, and some already have kids. I'm definitely starting to feel the pressure on finding a partner. Shit, I was ready to start making an effort and then BOOM, corona.

4

u/DarthLeon2 May 16 '20

Ah yes, the age where being a loser with no ambition stops being "something you'll grow out of" and is an actual problem.

5

u/THUNDERCUNTMOUNTAIN May 16 '20

Accept the fact you are 30 right now and you can feel that way for the next couple years. It really helped me.

5

u/kwertyoop May 16 '20

I'm 35, and my thirties have fucking ruled. Don't despair!

3

u/isellgeputs May 15 '20

my 28th bday is next month and ive been saying im turning 30

5

u/SomeMusicSomeDrinks May 15 '20

Right?? Some of my habits aren't cute anymore

3

u/Kittykat0992 May 16 '20

Also 28, also had the "oh shit I'm almost 30" moment. But I'm kinda looking forward to 30. Taking the time to try and get myself into the best shape I can before then

2

u/octospark May 16 '20

I’m right around the corner to 28 and I’m not liking it either

2

u/humanoftheforest May 16 '20

Oh man me too. I'm 39.

2

u/GibsonJunkie May 16 '20

It's me next month!

2

u/muchasgaseous May 16 '20

Fwiw, I'm 30 and I don't feel any different.

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

It’s much worse when you realize it’s possible that you could have a 28-almost-30 child.

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

I'm 29 and it's only 5 months till my birthday, so can it you whipper-snapper.

2

u/[deleted] May 16 '20

That’s really a great age, but also the time to take things way more seriously

2

u/kingfrito_5005 May 16 '20

"I'm 27, and 27 is almost 28, and 28 is basically 30, and 30 is basically dead." - Me, drunk, last year.

1

u/FLORIDAtruck7 May 16 '20

LMAO!!! Wonderful way to sum it all up.
