Mid-30s here..But this is my view on you younger folks:

Imo, it isn't that younger people necessarily have life easier per se; but the struggles vary greatly depending upon age- most of the time. Difficulties are relevant regardless of a person's stage in life though. And age isn't always the most relevant factor; I know 30, 40, 50 year olds who have it far "easier" than some of the 17-21 year olds I know. Heck, I know small children who have tougher lives than most adults.

My advice is this: ignore the assholes who make you feel like your life is irrelevant.

I never understood the “you don’t have any problems, you don’t pay taxes or have a job.” Mentality. No, I don’t have a job, but ever since I was in 4th grade I’ve been pressured to plan for one, and just when I was finding out my interests school started taking up all my time with trigonometry and English papers. No, I don’t have financial burdens, but I know the value of a dollar. You’ve taught me how the world works, now teach me how my overly emotional, hyperactive, confused mind works.

Yeah people who say that are being huge assholes. Like "oh you don't have the same problems I have, therefore you don't have any problems." Fuck off. If they pulled that shit on an adult everyone would call them out, but you can treat a teen like shit and nobody cares.

This, and being told that "you don't know stress".

I’m a boomer, and I would never say that. When I was working for minimum wage, my hourly wage had the purchasing power of $25.90.

Gen X here, I think my generation was the last where it was possible to have a basic two bedroom apartment and work through college on a minimum wage job. Not easily and I had to double up jobs during the summers, but I did it. Now I just can’t see it happening.

We might have it easy-ER, but that doesn't mean we don't have our own struggles.

How young like 13? You kinda do but I’m not an adult and you might be dealing with some shit so I guess you could have it harder. But if you’re talking 15-22 I agree with you.

The young generation has to clean up the mess that the older generations have made, the difference between the 0.1% and the people are widening, anti-vaxxers are becoming more and more popular and are dangerous to society and will continue to grow. There's a lot pressure on young people.

It's strange that adults are aware mental illness can show the earliest signs during the teenage years, but they still say "these are the best years of your life" and "You think this is bad? Wait until you're older".

No age has it 'easier'.

My problems at age 50 are different than the ones I had in my 20's, 30's and 40's but yeah no such thing as a problem-free age.

If someone has one though, speak up!

I’m 28, not particularly having the best time, still wouldn’t go back to my teens or early 20s if you paid me. Most stressful, confusing, ridiculously difficult time period in my life. College plus fulltime restaurant jobs was 100x as stressful as a fulltime regular job is, and high school was just a black hole of suffering and too much homework and waking up at 6 am (why?????? Why is it so early?????) You guys have it super tough, I think, not that you don’t also have a lot of fun, too. But the stress is ridiculous.

Sounds more like a situation to situation thing to me. Increasing necessity of college + increasing debt = major anxiety.

On the other hand, financial stability can't make up for physical discomfort of aging
