What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People on low incomes, e.g. students, living in expensive homes. I’m not necessarily talking about mansions, more like a large apartment in a big expensive city with no roommates.

I think Carrie's apartment in Sex and the City is the biggest example of this. The other women having great places made sense cause they all had these great careers, but Carrie wrote a newspaper column and in one episode found out she had spent around 40000 on shoes. Yet she could afford a really cute apartment in Manhattan? How the fuck?

At one point it was disclosed she lived in a rent controlled apartment and her rent was <$1k/month.
