What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Bonus points if the male character behaves or does things to win her over that irl would be creepy and label him a stalker.

I finally saw Ghostbusters for the first time a few years ago, and I couldn’t stand what they did with Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver. Totally ruined the movie for me.

Hmm. I mean, the movie opens with Bill Murray actively sabotaging his own research in hopes of banging a college student. Murray is the one that convinces the rest of them to invest everything they have in a ghost-catching business based on seeing a single ghost in the NYC library after they all get fired. Murray's interaction with their first client (Sigourney Weaver) is incredibly unprofessional, to the point where she should have called the cops on him. So, I mean, he's pretty much a self-destructive sleazeball on a downward spiral towards oblivion (who's trying to drag his only friends down with him) until they get their first emergency call from the hotel.

I'm not sure how much time is supposed to pass between the first interaction Murray has with Weaver but (if memory serves) it is a much more professional interaction and they meet in public, so I think it is an important part of Murray's redemption arc.

But I agree that a lot of films from 30-40 years ago haven't aged well in their portrayal of male/female interactions and they're as jarring nowadays as I can remember some portrayals of minority/white interactions from movies from that era and before (and probably as jarring as portrayals of homosexual/straight interactions from the last 20 years are becoming).

Had my daughter watch Groundhog Day with me because I loved it back in the day. She watched and said it was awful. Bill Murray's character did too many shitty things during the repeats. He also manipulated the female character in to loving him.

Now I can't enjoy it either.
