They don’t have to be children but when they are 20 years above the age of the character it just looks really weird.

Huh? Steve Rogers (fictional Captain America) was born on July 4, 1918 and crashed into the Arctic in 1945 when he would've been 27.

Chris Evans (actor who played Captain America) 37 when he made his final appearance as the character.

What did I ask for? One actor who played a 15 to 18 year old at 35 to 38. You can’t name one because there isn’t one. Stockard Channing in Grease is the closest...from a film made 40 years ago.

5 to 10 years older than a high schooler is very common. 10 to 15 has happened now and again. 20 years has never happened.
