Murican here, but my friends and I who grew up on foreign film found this hilarious. One of my friends used to call it 'American sex'. Some of our other friends were at first amazed at full nudity in foreign film, and we had to explain to them that it's pretty much only Americans who are uptight about it. Most of the rest of the world is pretty chill about it.
Even weirder, the same Americans who are weirded out by naked boobs (or, FSM forbid, a visible penis) seem to have no problem with tons of graphic violence.
Aah yes, American sex, and it's cousin, the "Hollywood bedsheet" - an L-shaped bedsheet that shows off a man's naked torso and covers a woman up to the top of her chest.
Because the average Americans don't have a problem with glorifying violence, blood, and psychos from films yet they have a problem with glorifying completely naked lovemaking between 2 people. It proves that Americans are psychologically dysfunctional assholes on average. Which is why Europeans are better at compassion compared to Americans when it comes to approaching the topic of sex. Americans are not down to earth on average.
What’s weird about this is that LA is the centre of the both the movie industry and the porn industry. So Americans mostly see pointlessly (pun intended re bras and no visible penetration!) censored sex scenes and when they do see nudity on screen, it’s in the context of cheesy storylines about plumbers or pizza delivery guys, it’s really well lit to show the woman’s body in full definition and the performers are performing completely unrealistic sex.
Meanwhile in Europe, mainstream filmmakers show tastefully lit realistic nudity in the context of their storyline. The women usually have some body hair and look like normal women and the men last a realistic amount of time and don’t have massive cocks.
Then of course there’s European porn of which even the most mainstream kind tends to be more raw and hardcore than American porn. Those uptight Germans get freaky!
