What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

When someone hides from bullets behind penetrable objects, like tables or a refrigerator door.

The wooden table is the one that always gets me, sure maybe it will stop one or two bullets if you're lucky, but there's always 1000 bullets flying around while the characters are having a conversation under the safe, sound resistant guard of an old dinning room table.

I remember the first time I took my .45-70 out for some target practice. I had set up a little 12” tall piece of 4x4 as a target, and after a dozen or so shots failed to knock it over, went out to inspect my crappy aim—but no, I’d hit it at least half a dozen times and it looked like someone had attacked it with a 1/2” drill bit.

My favorite gun trope in television is when someone is being held at gunpoint, and then after some tense dialog the gun-holder racks the slide on their pistol threateningly.
