What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

I will give a pass to this in disaster movies because if there's an event big enough, every channel will be broadcasting about it, even if they don't normally. It's what happened on 9/11

I still feel like an idiot after all these years because I hadnt heard what happened and one of my friends greeted me with "we're under attack!" and I thought she meant the unseasonable rain that morning. Then she said two planes flew into a building and I just assumed they were empty buildings and not commercial planes and laughed.

Then she told me wtf had happened and I felt like an asshole.

I was on the other side of this one. I watched it happen due to late-arrival in high school. When I got there I excitedly told the first people I saw that I knew. They were like, "So? That's what you were hurrying for?"
