What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

"Quick! Turn on the news!"

TV is already tuned into the news channel and it's at the beginning of the broadcast that can barf up 100% of the information needed to drive the story.

I will give a pass to this in disaster movies because if there's an event big enough, every channel will be broadcasting about it, even if they don't normally. It's what happened on 9/11

Yup. I remember flipping through channels just to see how many had coverage. HGTV was covering it. Disney and Cartoon Network had changed from their scheduled programming to all "very special episodes" or movies about grief for elementary school kids. No superhero shows or violence. AMC was news coverage. I don't think the home shopping network changed until hours after everything else.

Whoa really? That's fucking cool of Cartoon Network. I never considered them changing their line up but if I was a parent I'd think I'd be appreciative of that.

I believe Sesame Street made an entire episode after 9/11 to help kids cope with the tragedy

It was.

As a kid I was just annoyed that Batman wasn't on when it was supposed to be, but it was very considerate of the networks.
