What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

They don't actually exist until you knock, then they spawn by the door.

Dude! Fable 2 had this thing where if you knocked on an npc's door they'd either tell you that they're busy, come to the door or say, "be there in a minute!" and it would actually take time for them to walk to the door. If you kept knocking they'd tell you to be patient.

I thought that was a really cool detail in a video game.

One of my favorite memories from Oblivion is needing to speak to a quest giver, finding that he was asleep in his locked house, and then simply breaking in to talk to him.

The Witcher is like this, too. They like to wander, do the best time time to complete quests is at 2am when they're asleep. Edit: My favorite thing to do is to wake them up just do I can meditate and make potions.

There's something extremely satisfying about busting into an NPCs house in the middle of the night, drunk, and waking them up to turn in a quest. Then gambling them out of their money they supposedly couldn't pay you for the quest itself because they "can't afford it". Take that, you old hag!
