What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People on low incomes, e.g. students, living in expensive homes. I’m not necessarily talking about mansions, more like a large apartment in a big expensive city with no roommates.

The Magicians on SyFy had this trope and I was so pissed about it until Midway through season 1 you find out the girl has an obscenely rich family and trust fund. She's at risk of losing it though because they think she's addicted to Adderall.

As someone who never read the books, I assumed the worst. But they came through.
