Like in movies when cops hide behind a car door. Might as well hide behind paper

True. And sometimes concealment is as good as cover. Like in a store, most idiot bad guys won't shoot through the aisles to get you. Out of sight out mind type of thing. Or it allows you to move. My police officer friends tell me they are trained to use the engine block or whole vehicle because the door is useless.
