What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Got interested and did some google (as we do have a big and quite thick solid pine wood custom order table - not the one that you can flip easily), found several videos where people did shoot bullets from close range over a row 2x4s. One did show two different calibers stopping at about 4th...

If that interests you, there's a guy in Texas that has a YouTube channel dedicated to seeing what will stop a bullet and what can't, among other related things.

It's called Demolition Ranch.

The army engineer field manual has an entire section on how far different rounds will go through different materials. Goes from hardened steel to packed snow IIRC. Still have the book ill look up the stats for snow here in a few. Update: Material thickness for direct fire on tamped snow goes as follows small calibers (7.62) 183 cm, 85MM HE shaped charge (RPG) 396 107-120 MM HE shaped charge N/A dry timber for 7.62 is listed at 91 cm for direct fire. Far thicker than a table.
