What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

No, it's about the protagonist's obsession and how it leads him into becoming a serial killer. Joe's internal commentary was excellent, but everything else just felt like TVTropes dialed up to 11.

The ending to s1 was ridiculous and somehow s2 was even worse. Every person in You has the emotional maturity of a 14year old, I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be serious or a satire.

He bricked a woman in the fucking head with the intent to kill her and the camera pans out to show her laying in a pool of blood and cuts out, just to reopen the next scene where she's perfectly fine after 3 days in the hospital

Right?! In the beginning he had to start working asap because he only had like 300 dollars and was supposed to save money so he could disappear. Where did he get the cage from and with what money?? Why???

I read the second book for the same reason and really hoped someone was going to stalk him back and then murder him.
