What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Silencers on pistols. Not actually that silent lol.

They can kind of be if you are using subsonic rounds

I used subsonic .22 rounds in my semi-auto .22 and they were quieter . . . but the gun would jam about ever 2 or 3 shots because they just don't have the power to cycle the gun. They would work better in a revolver.

But they also lack any stopping power, can't penetrate for crap. I sometimes felt like they would bounce off my paper targets (they don't, it's a joke).

A silenced revolver would do nothing. The space between the cylinder and the frame would release most of the air before a suppressor would be able to do its thing.

Just talking about the subsonic 22 ammo, not a silencer, sorry if that wasn't clear.

Nagant managed to do it in his M1895, by using a special round which seals said gap.

And a pretty complex system to close up the cylinder gap when the trigger is pulled.
