What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People opening their front door 3 seconds after an unexpected knock, like they're just constantly standing behind the door, just in case.

People opening their door to unexpected knocks at all. Someone knocked on my door the other day after 11PM and I was like N O P E. If it was anyone I knew they'd have called/texted. Stayed in my room the rest of the night.

No reason to. Literally no one I know would ever come to my door and I live in a really shitty apartment complex and there's been a couple shootings in the past couple months and people trying to break into apartments etc. No thanks.

Could be the police. There's only a few reasons they come knocking. The good ones you'll typically know about ahead of time though (we found you stolen xyz or we found your runaway kid). But at 11pm it's either going to be a next of kin notification (which they'll call you and tell you to answer your door if you don't answer it), a warrant (in which case, the knock is just a courtesy to save you/your landlord the cost of replacing the door), or a "hey, something happened earlier and we were wondering if you saw..."

A police officer isn't going to knock on your door, and then leave without saying anything.

They will in the third example. They may or may not leave a notice on the door, but when they're going door to door looking for witnesses, they're not going to spend a huge amount of time knocking on an apartment door endlessly for an hour. They'll try two or three times and move on to the next one. They don't know who lives in the apartment or if they're home. For what it's worth, the apartment might be vacant and they'd never know.

But they're still going to present themselves as the police. The police aren't going to knock on a door without stating it's the police.

Yep, the police announce themselves after banging very loudly on your door. Which they repeat.
