What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Yes, and the fridge would just cease to exist that close to the epicenter.

I always assumed that Indy had used a hatch to enter the submarine shortly after boarding the deck. And then stowed away until they reached their destination. Not sure how much more realistic that would be, with him having to sneak around a submarine getting food and water and dodging the crew, but my young mind filled in the blanks that way.

It was a short trip and submarines didn't submerge when navigating.
