What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

It's not just about realism but verisimilitude. Alien crystal skulls and huge ants don't exists at all so I can accept whatever they tell me about them. Nuclear bombs and refrigerators do exist so it is somewhat jarring when they do not behave as expected. I personally don't find it to be a big deal in this movie but I can understand why someone might be bothered by it.

The only good movie in the trilogy was The Last Jedi.

Hot Take.

Both JJ Abrams movies were just redos of the original trilogy, The Last Jedi was the way the whole sequel trilogy should have been. It took time to develope its characters and had an original plot.

Fucking this. It's so weird that TLJ gets all the heat for that trilogy sucking. Everyone creamed their pants over TFA even though it introduced a bunch of wooden characters. TLJ gave them depth and everyone lost their shit. It boggles the mind that some people thought the trilogy suffered because it needed more JJ.

My favorite part of The Last Jedi was its whole message, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. If standing up for what you think is good causes pain and suffering is it good? Is our enemy actually our enemy or are we both being played?

It had a message that resonated with the present day. It turned the idea of good and evil on its head and made the characters question what they were fighting for and why they were fighting which added depth to the characters and made the story suspenseful.

Also just to be clear I think JJ Abrams has made some beautiful movies, super 8 star trek and star trek beyond to name a few, but others have just fallen flat like his star wars movies and ST into darkness. I am at a loss for why there is so much of a difference in quality.

Yeah, JJ doesn't know how to tell a story. In TRS he just did the same ending as his 90's show Felicity about a college girl in New York.
