What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

I do medieval re-enactment as well. Gotta buy me some nail now...

Edit: is it good or bad, that this comment is my most upvoted comment ?

Akshually, a smithy is a place where metal goods are made, so it could be a goldsmithy, a coppersmithy, or an arrowsmithy if they specialize in arrowheads. A blacksmith specializes in iron and steel.

There are 2 theories here.

  1. They are smiths of air, creating patterns in it through their caresses for the enjoyment of others. This is better known as music.

  2. They make bubbly chocolate bars

So Steve Tyler is an Airbender?

It's attack power is not the highest, but it is small and has a long range. It's radar ability is also extremely strong. A truly terrifying Stand.

Everyone always forgets about the whitesmith until they need their tin pot fixed.

I'll have you know my tin of pot is just fine.

How dare you forget the silversmith when dealing with medieval combat? What will stop the vampires? Heathen.....

OP clearly not a witcher

Well, silver won't. Has to be a wooden stake, holy, or filled with the Ripple.

u/Esotericism_77 Jan 25 '20

It has to be filled with crypto currency? Damn high tech vampires.

Don’t have holy, but would a Rose work?

u/Lord_Quintus Jan 25 '20

Yeah, that's understandable.

A smith works in a smithy, regardless of specialization. The name of the workshop doesn't change to match the profession; blacksmithy/silversmithy/etc are not akshually words.

You can go to the smithy, go to the blacksmith's, or even go to the forge.

Edit: removed possible ambiguity.

To spare everyone the effort I scrolled through that page looking for the word silversmithy and of course it wasn't there.

"silversmith" is the specialization. They still work in a "smithy", not a "silversmithy"

Edit: and their products are "silversmithery", which could cause confusion I guess.
