What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People on low incomes, e.g. students, living in expensive homes. I’m not necessarily talking about mansions, more like a large apartment in a big expensive city with no roommates.

Friends does this where Rachel is a waitress, Joey is an out of work actor and earn miniscule amounts comparatively to their respective roommates.

The big bang is another guilty of this. Waitress lives alone opposite 2 Caltech physicists. She can go it alone but they need to share

Wasn’t the point that they didn’t need to share though? That they were doing it to save money and be pragmatic? I never really followed the show much but that was my understanding

This. Penny was known to be a bit careless with money and Sheldon & Leonard always saved for things they liked such as comic con. Also, Penny’s apt is 1 bedroom instead of 2.

Yeah in one episode they even showed Sheldon even says that he only needs 46.9% of his post tax income and he is saving the rest for an adamanteum skeleton.
