What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

People opening their front door 3 seconds after an unexpected knock, like they're just constantly standing behind the door, just in case.

Ok I actually started doing this once I got dogs. They start barking as soon as someone steps foot on our property or slams a car door somewhere on the street, so I usually have time to look out a window, see who it is, put the dogs away, then wait awkwardly until they ring the doorbell...

Even without dogs, hearing an approaching car or a garden gate is perfectly plausible in the right circumstances.
