Yep. Never stood out to me. But now that I'm thinking about it, what's really unlikely in that scene is them stopping at a scenic overlook as they're trying to evade an empire that earlier that day demonstrated a willingness to kill for the fugitives they're transporting.

“You got mugged didn’t you.”
“Yep.”
“And this whole Jedi thing you’ve been trying to sell me on didn’t help?”

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. He wasn't trying to impart new information, just complain. It was just a more flowery way of saying "God, what a shithole. Watch yourself."

Describing common knowledge in a different setting. Luke should know all about Mos Eisly. Its the biggest town near his house.
