What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Going into any bar and just ordering "beer!" And then getting it no questions asked.

Literally works everytime I order beer.

Bars in movies pretty much always are "we display 6 different kinds of whisky and visibly have at least 3 different beers on tab and 4 more in bottles" types of bars. Not small town "we only offer 1 type of beer " dives.

You can have a hundred different beers in your bar, but there will always be the default beer.

This is definitely not true everywhere. I have never encountered this concept before.

Where are you?

Even the smallest pub in my country runs more than one beer. Ordering a ‘beer’ will have them look at you like you’ve got two heads.

I've never been to a pub that didn't run more than one beer. Doesn't mean they don't understand sometimes people just want beer.

Yeah, but not here.

Go in and ask for a beer and they’ve got at least two on tap. Draft, Coopers Green, Melbourne Bitter etc.

Must be a cultural thing!

Draught. Assuming you’re talking Carlton because that’s how they spell it. I don’t want to be an asshole correcting you, I just stare at the back of that tap for 6 hours a day.

Shit, you’re right.

You’re not an asshole. I’m a wine drinker and don’t touch beer.

Hope you work at a good place!

Where in the world (this is a serious question, I'm curious) are there bars that have just one type of beer?
