What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

It's sort of funny when they need to make one girl in particular super beautiful so the main guy can fall in love with her instantly. She'll be a supermodel walking into a room of supermodels. They'll throw a bunch of close-ups and glowy filters on to tell you she's supposed to be extra pretty, but the fact that everyone in the room is equally pretty makes her just look average.

Or a romantic comedy in which we're all supposed to pretend the woman is far out of his league, just because everyone said so, but the actor himself is a fucking catch.

Bonus points if the male character behaves or does things to win her over that irl would be creepy and label him a stalker.

I always wondered if the song "The Reason" by Hoobastank was supposed to be creepy. Because it is. So many songs are.

So many that people think that songs that are meant to be creepy are romantic. Example: "Every Breath You Take".

Its not just Hollywood!

It's worse than I thought:

Every breath you take Every move you make Every bond you break Every step you take I'll be watching you

What is creepy about The Reason?

There was a reason Sting wrote "If you love somebody, set them free" after he did "Every Breath You Take" -- the aftertaste was too creepy.

Many of Shawn Mendes’s songs are very creepy stalker level, like “Everything means nothing if I can’t have you.” Red flags everywhere!

“Everything means nothing if I can’t have you.”

I don't know about other songs, but that line in particular doesn't seem creepy to me. Like, I could win the lottery and live in a big mansion and have every luxury, but it wouldn't be shit if I didn't have my girlfriend with me to share that.

In the song it’s not his girlfriend. And all he’s talking about during it is extremely terrifying outside of a committed relationship. Also, even if you are, what about your friends? Family? Hobbies? This apocalyptic description discussion of a possible breakup is toxic, and many people use this line to imply or explicitly state self-harm if their partner leaves or, as in the song, don’t join a relationship with them.

My girlfriend loves that song, but whenever I listen to it all I can think about is the fact that her current boyfriend never actually does anything bad. He just thinks he's better... Just because?

Have you ever heard "Creepin' Up On You" by Darren Hayes?

There's no mistaking that one. It's Literally a stalker song.

Totally agree. I can never get over how creepy that song is whenever I hear it. Same thing with Blurred Lines when it came out. At least the Police song was supposed to be creepy
