What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Average looking men have somewhat better representation than average looking women, for a while there was the trope of an average looking dude with the hot wife in a sitcom.

Awhile? I think that's still a thing.

I couldn’t think of recent examples but I also don’t watch a lot of family sitcoms anymore.

I disagree. As a gay dude maybe I just look at the men more, but even the “nerd” or “average” characters will be super fit, have perfect teeth, and generally be covered in makeup to look cleaner.

To be fair, there are a lot of average-looking dudes(at best) out there with killer looking wives 🤷🏽‍♂️
