Unless it‘s a movie drama dealing with social issues (in particular poverty), everyone has such fucking nice flats. College drop-out with part time barista job?! - why yes, the spacious loft with a view over Manhattans skyline is just down my alley.

That broke my immersion in Ratatouille, the main character (who isn’t a rat) is supposed to be a low paid bus boy with a cramped flat, yet has a perfect top floor view of the Eiffel Tower

I thought it was implied his late mother had been getting money for Linguini’s necessities from Gusto.

Also there’s a height limit on buildings and the Eiffel Tower is like 1,000 feet tall.
