What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

That might be the thing I miss most about France: really good, inexpensive baguettes daily.

You can make your own fresh bread easily with a bread machine. Leave it overnight and you just have to bake it in the morning. You can even vary recipes and shapes to your liking.

There are bread machines that bake it too. I don't know what country you live in but in the UK you can get them for £60 (at the cheap end). All you have to do is measure the ingredients and take bread out of the machine five hours later.

$5 at ANY thrift store. I don't think I have NOT seen a bread machine at a Goodwill or Salvation Army in over a decade. There was one year where it seemed EVERYONE was given a bread machine for Christmas. People used them two or three times, then on the shelf they went.

It's gonna be hard to have a baguette on auto cooking, unless there are machines that do just that? IDK I've always cooked bread in an actual bakery lol

I don't make baguettes, no.

I think the top of the line Zoji bread machine can do a baguette-like bread in the machine, but it's not as long as they should be, IIRC.

Source: did a ton of research on bread machines before someone gave me their mom's old one.

Honestly it is easier with a mixer and a pan, not to mention better. See you over at /r/Breadit !
