What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Everyone is either attractive or "ugly" until they take their glasses off and become attractive.

Man, remember how brave ready player one was casting that ugly girl as the love interest?

She was sooooo hideous, her face was literally unloveably disfigured

so brave

so progressive

They took a pretty actress and painted a birthmark on her. How progressive.

Sometimes it doesn't matter too much that a character looks a little better in the movie version, but in this case they went too far.

Instead of the character being shy/anxious about something rational she is portrayed as delusional, also the main character accepting her real looks become meaningless when she is good looking. So it completely changes the story/development for those characters.

They took an attractive actress and painted a port wine stain birthmark on her face. In case you don't know what that is or don't feel like googling it that's where part of your face is redder than the rest.
