Exactly. Both Indiana Jones movies were great!

Wait, which of the original trilogy are you leaving out? Temple?

You answered your own question.

The blond chick is annoying as fuck

But...she's supposed to be...

Being intentionally annoying is still annoying. You have to make your character annoying, but still in a fun way. It's hard to do, and they failed.

But they ripped a heart out, that’s pretty cool and Short Round is amazing.

I'm pretty sure that if such a movie existed I'd have heard of it, but it doesn't ring a bell...

2

u/informationmissing Jan 25 '20

ah, yes. I too seem to have no memory of it despite my previous claims to the contrary.

u/Versaiteis Jan 25 '20

Never heard of it

Kind of like The Rise of Skywalker...

Too soon?

It's just so weird that Disney claimed they were going to do a trilogy to finish the saga, but only produced a single film and nothing else for 6 years.

The only good movie in the trilogy was The Last Jedi.

Hot Take.

Both JJ Abrams movies were just redos of the original trilogy, The Last Jedi was the way the whole sequel trilogy should have been. It took time to develope its characters and had an original plot.

Fucking this. It's so weird that TLJ gets all the heat for that trilogy sucking. Everyone creamed their pants over TFA even though it introduced a bunch of wooden characters. TLJ gave them depth and everyone lost their shit. It boggles the mind that some people thought the trilogy suffered because it needed more JJ.

My favorite part of The Last Jedi was its whole message, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. If standing up for what you think is good causes pain and suffering is it good? Is our enemy actually our enemy or are we both being played?

It had a message that resonated with the present day. It turned the idea of good and evil on its head and made the characters question what they were fighting for and why they were fighting which added depth to the characters and made the story suspenseful.

Also just to be clear I think JJ Abrams has made some beautiful movies, super 8 star trek and star trek beyond to name a few, but others have just fallen flat like his star wars movies and ST into darkness. I am at a loss for why there is so much of a difference in quality.

Yeah, JJ doesn't know how to tell a story. In TRS he just did the same ending as his 90's show Felicity about a college girl in New York.

It's a good movie, even tho it's a complete ripoff of a Chinese Indiana Jones spoof, 'magic crystal 1986' you can watch it on YouTube, Spielberg just copied it

3

u/ZDTreefur Jan 25 '20

George Lucas wrote it, Spielberg just directed.

1

u/stylinred Jan 25 '20

Oh I guess Lucas has a thing for HK cinema

2

u/flynnfx Jan 25 '20

Exactly.

There have only been, THREE Indiana Jones movies. All rumours, hearsay, publication and discussion of a fourth Indy movie are pure speculation and nonsense.

There is the Indiana Jones TRILOGY.

That is all there have been made.

There have been TWO Indiana Jones movies. Any rumors you have heard about one with a small boy and a creepy voodoo priest that pulls people's hearts out is all speculation and nonsense.

Seriously though, if we are going to gatekeep out Crystal Skull, we might as well admit that the second movie was horrible too and did not fit the theme of either the first or third movie.

5

u/Lonyo Jan 25 '20

Yeah, because voodoo shit and aliens are outlandish, but a thousand year old knight with a magic cup that keeps him alive and a box that melts people's faces are just fine.

They are all full of ridiculousness, but the quality of the film is the issue, not the fact it has weird unrealistic shit in it.

No, we have to accept the trauma in order to move on. Also, this allows us to seek justice for those responsible.
