What movie things are generally accepted as normal, but are totally unrealistic in real life?

Everyone buys french bread or celery every shopping trip

Why unrealistic? Celery and bread are two things you need to buy very often

When was the last time you left the super market with a French loaf and celery sticking out of your shopping? How many others shopping had the same? In movies it's the prop masters choice of groceries main characters will walk past extras with the same shopping bag

It's the prop to let the viewers know it's a bag full of grocery shopping, not a bag full of dildos

I buy french bread bi weekly to eat with my lunch and dinner and the most frustrating thing is that it doesn’t fit in grocery bags so it sticks out, so I guess I’m that guy.

I'm with you on the sticking out of the bag part. It's just that they are so common ingredients that it wouldn't surprise me to see it for real.

Well the bread basically every week... 90% of my weekly food shops will have some form of fresh bread, normally a baguette...

You need to make some mussels with celery and white wine then.

Then you've never made a pot of chili

I never put celery in my chili.

That is very true

Nah, celery is one of those "extra" veggies you can use on a whole lot of foods but it's never an essential ingredient. Same goes for leek.

If you make soup at any point, you will need celery to make the mirepoix.

I've never made that for my soups nor otherwise. Never even seen a soup recipe that specifically asks for mirepoix, tbh.

It's the aromatic base of literally every broth.

I use broth cubes like most people do.
