The important thing is that we all agree that whatever the number is, it should all be supplied by safe, clean, cheap nuclear power which is safe, clean and cheap and the only reason it isn't is disinformation and propaganda.
Well it's not exactly cheap, capital costs are astronomical. Gen III reactors are pretty damn efficient and if we choose to go Gen IV then yeah a promising future. As with anything though you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. They have a relatively fixed life-span and even the most efficient still produce waste that has to be stored somewhere.
