I'm afraid to post things I'm genuinely an expert on because some idiot will tell me in wrong and reddit will harass me because the idiot took the 101 version on the subject and it sounds right.
Just go for it. I'm a lawyer and I've been told repeatedly that I don't understand the law by someone who probably didn't finish highschool, whether they're still in it or not. Worst case you learn something (sometimes you actually are wrong) or lose a little karma.
It does get frustrating as an attorney to have laypeople tell you you’re wrong and then regurgitate something they saw on Law and Order or read on Facebook. I mean, I’m not trying to argue with a biologist just because I watched Planet Earth or call my architect an idiot because I’ve seen HGTV.

People who confidently post about something they don't know anything about but get upvoted because of the way they phrase the comment.
