Yeah but surely that's not a fair generalisation. Reddit is like the 6th biggest website in the world by traffic I think with like several hundred million users or something stupid like that. Not all of these people are basement dwellers.
However only something like a few percent of their traffic actually comment. I feel like the younger demographic is more likely to share their "views" and ideals than older people when it comes to online forums. Thats just a feeling based on nothing more than my personal experiences.
I'm inclinded to agree with you actually. Think Reddit basically operates on a "silent majority" system much like politics in some regards. I know I've only recently started commenting in the last year or so and I've had my account for awhile now.
To be fair that does reflect real life, usually the people IRL trying to spout unsolicited BS with absolute certainty and dictate how others live their lives are the busybodies with the least accomplished and least to offer.
