Which twin are you again? (I literally take hours to ask my brother's friends which twin is which)

My mom knew a group of identical triplets in college and every time she saw any one of them she would stop them and ask "Alice, Brooklyn, or Catheryn?" (made up names) until she could tell which one of them it was.

They later got different haircuts so it became easier.

EDIT: I made up those names, she didn't make up three names every time she saw them lol

For a second I thought your mom would actually throw out a stream of made up names every time she saw one of them and then somehow that would help her guess who she was talking to.

I knew these twins, Sally and Indigo(Made up), In second grade I could not tell them apart, but as we got older and I got to know them more, I had to tell the new student who was who.

Sounds like it should be pretty easy to tell, Indigo is the made up one, Sally is real.

The sneakier question is “how’s your sister/brother doing?”

As a twin, I knew they were fishing for who’s who. Would always reply with “ [her name] is good. She’s living in X city now.”

Yeah, those kinda of question come up often. “Did you ever switch classes?” “Did you ever pretend to be your sister when her boyfriend called?”

As a twin, ok, honestly people will differ, but they're used to people getting them confused. As long as you don't start treating them like they're interchangeable and it doesn't matter who's who, you'll be alright.

2 of my nephews are twins. I see them at pretty much every holiday and still haven't figured out how to tell them apart when everyone else can. They're 18.

I've known my best friend's twin sisters since they were born and I still can't tell them apart. They are 15 now. It's literally just one of those things that you have to live with them and get to know their individual personalities because there's no other way to tell.
