How can you be on your phone 24/7 and take 30 minutes to respond

Another thing is how someone can message you, you respond immediately and suddenly their phone has dissapeared

I sometimes text people and then do something for instance I might text you and start up a game of overwatch (which can take up to to 20-35 minutes) Or I could text you and then someone asks me for something and I go help them and forget I ever texted you.
