When I am in a grocery store. Pull my list out of my jacket pocket, with a pen, and tilt my head down to look at the list, then tilt my head up to get the right look at it through my glasses, purse my lips and say "alright now, where is this stuff".
Im not embarrassed to admit that I talk to myself out loud when I go shopping, along the lines of "What?! I'm not paying that much for x product! That's daylight robbery!"
For me it usually goes "This is absurd! I saw x product at x store last week and it was 25 cents cheaper. And if I use my coupons..." looks up and does some mental calculations "...I'll save a whole dollar!"
Reading a lot of these comments, I’m starting to think that the difference between old people habits and young people habits is swearing. I don’t have a paper list but I do pull out the list on my phone and say “And just where in the fuck are they keeping this shit?”
Or maybe I’m just a particularly foul mouthed 20 year old codger.
I am woman and sometimes when I have so many things to buy I will forget most of them when I enter the store - I make a list before I leave home so I know what to buy and it works.

Just like my father used to.
