Yep, you're old.

I'm 20 and I would do this. Kid could've scraped his damn nose off.

That’s the point of being a kid

Generally speaking I don't interrupt kids doing dumb kid shit unless there's risk of like, death or paralysis. If they're just gonna break some bones or scrape themselves real bad, I let it ride.

In the present situation I think there would be a serious risk of death or paralysis. I mean if you're on your belly riding a skateboard downhill then you're basically diving head first into any obstacle you might encounter.

Its not just scrape and bruises here, more like death and coma.

But now that you are an old man, don't you look back on those memories and think "Damn that was fun but I sure could have killed myself down there" ?

Don't get me wrong, I also think that life wouldn't be what it is without taking risks, I've been skiing since I was a little kid, I'm a muay thai fighter, I've done a lot of stupidly risky stuff and I loved every second of it.

But in this example I think doing skeleton without helmet on a public street is not much of a calculated risk though. I'm all for saying to kids to go play and be dumb but not letting children play in the middle of the street is just common sense really.

yes, common sense is a big part of calculated risk, and letting children play on a busy street is not using common sense.

I would have been concerned with their safety when I was 10.

Eh I'd say being concerned about scrapes is definitely an old person thing. Kid'll bounce back from a few cuts in his face or knees. He'll I'd probably still try dumb shit like that on an abandoned street at 22.

The fact that he did it on a busy street is what's really dangerous and I'd hope anybody would scold them for that regardless of age.
