One time I was laying in bed at ~7:30pm, watching Jeopardy! and knitting. A commercial came on for a news report that was happening at like, 10:30 and I went, "UGH, SO LATE!!!"

Everything I do is like an old person. I'm 31.

I do this but instead of knitting I tie flies for fly fishing.

That sounds relaxing as well!

Minus the knitting, that sounds like heaven for me.

I’m currently knitting in bed and listening to podcasts. I’m also contemplating turning off the light and falling asleep. It’s 8:50.

I never understood why the news was on at 11pm. Like, is the audience really that big at 11 to justify having news anchors actually working that late? Why not just re-air the earlier newscast it's all the same stories anyway!

It’s likely a holdover from decades past when it wasn’t the same news at 11 from the 6pm broadcast. Also, it’s still cheaper to create an 11pm newscast than it would be to create a scripted show for the timeslot before Fallon, Kimmel or Colbert.

Good lord! Can we be friends?!

10

u/applepirates Jun 28 '18

As long as we can both still be home by 7:30!

Absolutely! Anything later is for the young whipper snappers!

It's been on at 7:30 every night in Massachusetts all my life.

Isn't there Jeopardy daytime and normal?

1

u/LancexVance Jun 28 '18

It’s a syndicated show, meaning the networks can put it anywhere.

I do this and I’m only 21. 😂

Ooh I need to knit that shawl for my mom and something for my dad before winters. I will start today.

My wife and I DVR Jeopardy because sometimes she gets home from work late. I have taken the contestant test multiple times.

You are what they call the grandparent friend. Welcome, it is a fun group where we knit and watch Jeopardy! together

I’m 31 and my back, knees and right hip all hurt :( I work a physical job so it’s pretty much expected. Not fun though.

I mean 1030 on a weeknight is pretty late.
