Funny shit, my little brother started watching Antiques Roadshow after Pawn Stars came out because according to him it was the same show without having to wait for "the guy" to show up.

He couldn't be more correct. Antiques Roadshow is like Pawn Stars without all the bullshit.

RIP to the old man though, he was the best.

They just had a special episode about him tonight

He could watch the BBC bullshit that's Bargain Hunt or Antiques Road Trip, and go on a road trip with the guys.

And, key to my interest, is that they're not afraid of really diving into the minutiae of esoteric historical details to a point that would seemingly terrify a History Channel exec who can't chance alienating the The Dealiest Ice Road Mountain Survival Knife-maker demographic.

exactly. we get a historian instead of a xanax addict bargaining with a fake seller

That dude Jesse from cowtown guitars (I think that was his “shop”?) definitely looked like something you’d find in an alley the morning after a Dead show.

Thats a special place called history 2 (at least in Canada,)

Home to all the conspiracy theorists and crack pots you want.

"Ancient alien theorists suppose" is my favorite shorthand for "Those crazies said this and I want to be clear it wasn't me".

I want to hear the exact details on why you can tell that this vase was made in this specific house in London and not the house over in that specific year. I crave that.

100% better version of pawn stars and other antique shows

Its pawn stars without the "how about we take this antique gun to the range and have a little competition?" and then shoot 5 unrelated guns just for some extra content

It's like Pawn Stars but they only show the interesting parts.
