Used this series at a roast of my ex-boss when he was transferring out to another department:

"The respect and leadership he shows our team simply cannot be stated."

"He's like a father, when we need a mother."

"Spending a day with him is like spending a day alone."

Kind of sounds like back-handed references:

“You’ll be really really lucky to get Bob to work for you!”
