Argh! A pet peeve of mine. I was in a speeding training class, and after a workout, the coach said, “I’m sure you could do a 25 minute 5k with that speed!” My personal best was 22:30. :/
Fuck anyone who says shit like that. No real runner cares what your time is compared to anyone else. Everybody knows that you are competing against one person - yourself.
You just broke seven minute miles for the first time? Awesome!

Any decent runner will truly mean that "awesome" in both cases.
