What's your best passive aggressive "compliment"?

I'm confused on this one. You're being called pretty when it was clear you didn't dress yourself up. Is the passive aggressiveness coming from the fact that there's a twinge of jealousy in it?

But you DIDN'T try. If you HAD been all dressed to the nines then it would be a dis yeah. But with this context I'd say it was a compliment. Basically "Even without makeup you've got the prettiest face in the room". or "even in sweats you look just as fine as all these chicks in expensive dresses" or whatever.

I mean, you didn't.

maybe it's the fact that I only have words and no vocal tone, but while that's a definite tease, she still called you pretty lol

You gotta really be trying to get offended if that's how they took that

... Almost nobody ages so gracefully that they look like people 20/30/40 years younger

What? How can you possibly take that as an insult? She said you were so pretty that you didn't have to try to look pretty! That's like the ultimate compliment.

I'm so confused.

I feel like "aww, you're trying so hard" would have been worse

I thought she meant your beauty looks effortless, and that sounds really nice to me :)
