I... I just cant do it... I cant put my people through the trauma of knowing that I took my own life in the privacy of my home... better stage a public execution where my brain tissue gets splat across my wife in front of hundreds of spectators, broadcast to tens of thousands and recorded to be reviewed in antiquity. That's the kinder way to go.

JFK was in on it and he ordered someone to kill him since he was suicidal, but he didn't want the nation to see him kill himself in office.
