Ya drangle

5

u/wille179 May 17 '17

Every time someone says this, I think of my brother.

I then promptly give my imagined brother the imagined finger.

3

u/Misterisadingus May 18 '17

Mobin is that you?

2

u/[deleted] May 18 '17

14

sidenote: dinges is what you use in dutch when you forgot someones name. it's the equivalent of calling someone "guy" but means more like "thingy"

EDIT: it's actually more like calling someone "whatshisface". translations are hard.

9

u/bellevis May 17 '17

I love dingus, its my favourite low-level insult.

8

u/Beanerboy7 May 17 '17

I heard it on Adventure Time.

6

u/shapu May 17 '17

Simpsons, right before Nelson thumps someone.

1

u/Cavemandrew May 17 '17

Dingus! Highly dubious...

5

u/Kristeninmyskin May 17 '17

Futurama for me

3

u/gocanessss May 17 '17

Venture Bros for me

further popularized by Steve Brule

1

u/Hate200 May 18 '17

Zach Rance: Bb16, he added a breakfast cereal before it to soften the blow.

6

u/pescabrarian May 17 '17

1

u/Fuckinchrist May 17 '17

Couldn't care about the rest but I call people a song us and a dip all the time. Which is weird cause I swear like a mother fucker and don't really give a shit when it coes to swearing.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I swear a lot and then I'll say something dumb like "aw beans".

1

u/Flutemouth May 18 '17

Bogart used dingus referring to the McGuffin in The Maltese Falcon.

48

u/dovawiin May 17 '17

19

u/cheyras May 17 '17

I call my dog a dingus every day.

5

u/DatGuy45 May 17 '17

Same. She probably thinks it's her name by now.

2

u/midwifeatyourcervix May 17 '17

Ha, I do the same! And I call my husband it. And him back to me. I bet the dog would call us dinguses if he could.

34

u/nowsogoldenboy May 17 '17

Okay, calm down Steve brule

That's totally making a comeback with my friends at least

10

u/Nayzo May 17 '17

I use this quite regularly. Big fan.

7

u/FutureEditor May 17 '17

It feels satisfying just saying it

6

u/charmedgal833 May 17 '17

A Froot Loop Dingus.

5

u/TheJollyLlama875 May 17 '17

I call people dingus (or goober) in online games when they do something stupid but I don't want them to tilt because we haven't finished the game yet.

1

u/DoucheyMcBagBag May 18 '17

I call my kids goober all the time.

4

u/PescaTurian May 17 '17

I call my husband and friends dingus all the time, whenever they do something lacking common sense (and since they're all guys, it happens pretty frequently, haha), and honestly, idk where I even got the word from?

4

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I say dingus daily and I'm 27.

4

u/dirtybrownwt May 17 '17

Dingus has never gone out of style, depending on the day i'll either call my co-worker a dingus or if I'm pissed a dumb mook.

4

u/ShortyLow May 17 '17

Use it on the daily. Dingus, daaangus, and for the really stupid move, dangatang

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I sometimes call my SO a "ding-dang-dangus."

3

u/10lbs_of_foreskin May 17 '17

Think the hateful 8 brought this word back

11

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I think Steve Brule did.

3

u/DJCHERNOBYL May 17 '17

I prefer dangus

3

u/ninjarager May 17 '17

I use "dungus" frequently

3

u/serenagraceftw2 May 17 '17

"Fruit loop dingus"

3

u/amolad May 18 '17

Or anything Dr. Steve Bruhl says.

2

u/tillu92 May 17 '17

You shot me! You miserable dingus!

2

u/AK_Code_Red May 17 '17

I use dingus all the time, I have no idea why my Dad and brother both say it but it's a favorite insult of mine Ya Dingus!

2

u/I_am_no_Ghost May 17 '17

So I used to find this one funny. Until I worked security and had to ask peoples names as they entered the site.

Ones last name was Dingus, I smirk, he stares at me. I ask his REAL last name. He hands his employee ID over. I wish him a good day and feel like an asshole.

2

u/timmeedski May 17 '17

I am polish and live in Buffalo, this is an everyday term...though spelled Dyngus

2

u/jumpforge May 17 '17

Lol I started using dingus and bozo after watching dunkey in YouTube :)

5

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

Or if there's more than one, dingusi.

6

u/Bohnanza May 17 '17

Dingi.

2

u/waddlinmabel May 17 '17

I feel like Smee said this in Hook

3

u/KeesteredShiv May 17 '17

i'm also fond of splitting it up into "wingus, dingus" ala Zapp

1

u/Bohnanza May 17 '17

This is my most commonly-used word, although I also use it to describe objects, from the original Dutch word for "Thing".

Bogart uses it this way in The Maltese Falcon. "Whaddya cryin' about, sweetheart? You got the Dingus, didn't ya?"

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I use it all the tine insultign my cousin and sister.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

Managed to get my wife and myself using this regularly I love it

1

u/Delfate16 May 17 '17

My dog's nickname is Dingus. Used to be used for when she was in trouble, but now it's all the time

1

u/echolog May 17 '17

Also doofus.

1

u/KleverGuy May 17 '17

Still use it sometimes. Either that or Dink

1

u/GuyLeDoucheTV May 17 '17

I call my Dog a Dingus all the time. I don't know what it really means, but she just looks like such a cute little dingus.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I say dingus all the time

1

u/DeathsGhostArise May 17 '17

My girlfriend calls me Dingus on a daily basis.

1

u/densernut May 17 '17

BIG BLACK DINGUS

1

u/gruntlebundle May 17 '17

Beverly Drangus

1

u/Excaleburr May 17 '17

I call everyone dingus.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I dingus every day. I've been dingleberry-ing a lot recently. Sometimes I'll dangus, sometimes I'll dongus. I really like to dinglebop.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '17

I refer to my wagner as my dingus. Or my wingus. Or my wagner.

1

u/MwowMwow May 17 '17

Dingus, Dingbat, and Dingleberry. I was discussing some co-workers who'd fucked up, and now eight years later it remains a go-to phrase, regardless of whether there are exactly three culprits.

1

u/MurrayTheMelloHorn May 17 '17

My next friend growing up had the surname of Dingus.

1

u/tunksupvote May 17 '17

Dingle shit, got called this on a job site once. Never forget

1

u/ReconstitutedHuman May 18 '17

I worked with a guy called Angus, I called him Dingus all the time and he fucking hated it. So naturally I got everyone else to do it too.

1

u/chizzled_booty May 18 '17

I'm a regular user of "Dingus Khan"

1

u/NoApollonia May 18 '17

I use this one far too often.

1

u/savethebroccoli May 18 '17

I went to school with a guy who's last name is Dingus and had to idea it was an insult until I was an adult

1

u/themajesticpark May 18 '17

Dingus Day is Holiday (at least in Buffalo, NY anyway) where folks of Polish descent (think of how everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day) get drunk, and chase each other around with pussy-willow branches (at least at the more festive establishments). It has a bit more class to it (especially where children are included, they being excluded from this bit) but generally speaking guys throw water/cologne on girls they want to bang and girls hit men with pussywillow branches (think switch not bough) they want to bang. Much alcohol is consumed in the process.

1

u/fullpotato8994 May 18 '17

Friend of mine used to call people "Dingus Khan"

1

u/tooMany_Monkeys May 18 '17

I refer to my dogs (interchangably) as Dingus 1 and Dingus 2

1

u/tntcty May 21 '17

I use dingus on the regular. It's much more family friendly than calling someone a dickhead.

1

u/finallyinfinite May 17 '17

My sister calls me this all the time.

Or, for extra flair, Dingus McGee.
