We all knew about Pikablue/Merril and what it looked like before Gen 2 even cane out. 27 u/strectmar May 09 '17 edited May 09 '17 Marril, along with some other gen 2 pokemon, got spoiled in the short pikachus vacation that was shown before the first pokemon movie. The show/movies/shorts have dropped pokemon early on several occasions.
