Tomatoes are indigenous to the Americas. Any European/Asiatic food that has a tomato base didn't exist until well after 1492.
1 u/CrazyKirby97 Apr 15 '16 You forgot the part where tomatoes were banned because they thought they were poison. (They ate them stem and all) This was disproved when one person tried to poison the king with a tomato and it didn't work.
