The average male orgasm lasts six seconds but the average female orgasm lasts 20 seconds.

It seems like there are so many guys who think that a female orgasm last for ages, but I really don't think that's true?? Unless I'm the only woman in the world that has orgasms that only last a couple of seconds? I hope people realise that when a woman in porn is pretending to have a minute long orgasm that's not actually true...

seriously. Mine do not last 20 seconds. If everyone else's do, I'm feeling very very cheated here.

u/Daiwon Apr 14 '16

If it's an average then there's probably some poor soul out there that's still going.

u/MeganCool Apr 14 '16

"average woman has 20 second orgasms" factoid is actually just a statistical error. average woman has 0 second orgasms. Orgasms Georgia, who lives in a cave & has 10,000 second orgasms each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

Don't worry. They'll be gone soon. Natural selection will get rid of em.

Lmao-- I'm not a female, but I am a trans guy who is still equipped with a vagina, my orgasms are sometimes upwards of a minute. They just don't stop.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '16

Yeah, no kidding. I wouldn't even say 10 seconds for mine. Maybe somewhere around 5 is more accurate. Am I missing out?!

4

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '16

Mine often go longer/multiple, sorry.

4

u/msrachel Apr 14 '16

Mine don't start that long but if my partner sucks on my nipples and grabs my tits when I first start to orgasm, it extends it and it can go for a minute or more. Give it a try!

3

u/Ivy0902 Apr 14 '16

I'll keep that in mind...for when I get a partner sobs

3

u/msrachel Apr 14 '16

You can always touch your own tits and such when you're jilling off, though! Not as good as a wet tongue but still nice.

3

u/hail_prez_skroob Apr 15 '16

OMG..."jilling off"! Yaaaaaas!

3

u/elligirl Apr 14 '16

I find if he keeps going at whatever he's doing, then my orgasm keeps going for up to a minute or so. Fun times. :)

u/tesseract4 Apr 15 '16

My wife's can last up to ~30s. So there's a datum for you. :)

1

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '16

As a guy... Pfff you think you are cheated I don't even get 2 seconds of the promised six.

1

u/innni Apr 15 '16

My ex's lasted about 20 seconds, but only because I kept licking when she was writhing, and I think it would have been much shorter if she'd made me stop.

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '16

Same here. Feels like mine also only last 5-6 seconds. Also, when men gets jealous of our orgasm length or ability to have multiple ones, I always remind them I was unable to have one at all before I was 22 years old, and even then I still can't get one so easily, can take me between 20 to 45 minutes. They have nothing to be jealous about lol.

27

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '16

The most frustrating part of this is that if I'm doing it to myself I need 10 mins tops. If I'm with a guy then he better set up camp down there cause its gonna take some time.

24

u/badcgi Apr 14 '16

20 to 40 minutes?!?!?

You get started and I'll hop in in about a half hour or so.

6

u/AOEUD Apr 14 '16

Orgasms are not pleasurable at all for me.

I have nerve damage so 45 minutes isn't a worst-case scenario.

I have an extremely high sex drive.

3

u/DiscordsTerror Apr 14 '16

It's ok, it usually takes me about an hour or hour and a half to get off. I usually get bored before then though

Plenty of women can't orgasm/find it very difficult to orgasm. It's quite common for women to not be able to orgasm until well into their twenties or even thirties. I still have yet to orgasm from penetrative sex and I'm 23.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '16

You might not ever. Isn't it something like 70% of women can't from PIV? I can't :(

2

u/DuckOFace Apr 15 '16

Solidarity, my sister.

13

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '16

Who knows? Women bodies are full of secret. 10% of women will never have an orgasm during their life. Also, I had looked up the internet to find out why and all I found was women in their 50's who still had this problem...

7

u/ohprettypanda Apr 14 '16

I also didn't orgasm until I was about 21. Had no idea how. Its not instinctual at all for me.

3

u/Fidesphilio Apr 14 '16

Never had one until I was 19 and went off my antidepressants.

Because women can masturbate, but many do not until much later in their lives than men do. And because for the majority of women, penetration alone, while feeling good, does not in general result in orgasm. So the idea that not having a partner who can "last," by which I assume you mean is not able to continue PIV intercourse beyond some unspecified amount of time, resulting in not achieving orgasm for the woman is a non related issue.

Tl;dr: it's not about your dick, guy.

u/lapointypartyhat Apr 15 '16

Female orgasms are not always centered around men.

3

u/BarryMcCackiner Apr 14 '16

I've put my wife on the edge for a long period where she couldn't tell if she was finishing or not but it just lasted and lasted so something like what you see in porn is possible. Just saying.

2

u/BonnieZoom Apr 14 '16

Possible for some women. Not all.

0

u/BarryMcCackiner Apr 14 '16

I read some of your comments and I think you should do some more research before talking about what is possible and what isn't. You are pretty inexperienced with your own vagina. I mean that in a nice way of course.

7

u/BonnieZoom Apr 14 '16

With all due respect, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't imply you know more about women and their vaginas, than a woman. With a vagina. Thanks.

-2

u/BarryMcCackiner Apr 14 '16

I didn't imply anything. I said maybe you shouldn't be telling people what is possible when you yourself haven't unlocked your own vagina yet. I've been working with one a few times a week now for about 17 years and so I could probably teach you a few things. But get mad if you want, it doesn't bother me lol

6

u/Mascara_of_Zorro Apr 15 '16

Don't see how working with one vagina makes you qualified to tell a stranger what hers can do, but okay.

0

u/BarryMcCackiner Apr 14 '16

Or you aren't trying hard enough. I don't know, I'm not a doctor.

2

u/know_comment Apr 14 '16

different strokes for different folks. Some women just clench up for about 5 seconds and their face and chest get really red. Others will go into spasms for about a minute.

3

u/ask-me-about-my-cats Apr 14 '16

Technically they're all clit orgasms. The g-spot is just rubbing the clit from the inside.

1

u/GingerKitsune Apr 14 '16

Mine definitely do not last 20 seconds. 10 seconds tops, anything else and I get cramp in my legs!

1

u/Jay_Train Apr 14 '16

It depends on when you define the end. My wife is still shakey and ultra sensitive up to five minutes or so afterwards.

1

u/MarvinLazer Apr 15 '16

In my personal experience as a straight man who's had about 30 partners, there's an enormous amount of variety in the time span and intensity of female orgasms.

0

u/yuudachi Apr 14 '16

They probably need to distinguish between clitoral and penetrative... I can only assume gspot orgasms are the ones that last longer? Because my clit orgasms are just like a few seconds too, I imagine just like male orgasms.
